Art Journal - Rustic Tress

Hi Lovelies, I'm back again with some more Art Journal goodness! This week's page has more of an earthy feel to it with plenty of textures and natural tones.  The colour palette for the page consists of light green, bold orange, and sienna with splashes of blue. Although these are Helen's chosen colours, ladies are more than welcome to mix things up and change them.  Helen has been loving using tea bags in her pages and so have we! There's nothing better than an excuse to have more cups to tea! Plus you can use them to create incredible pages like this!  On top of the various layers used to make the background, Helen has used the wonderful technique of repetition and stamped this gorgeous tree pattern to make a lovely feature. Use the Stampendous Script Tree stamp to get the same effect as Helen for this page.  There is always plenty of room for error...

Fabulous Foamiran Flowers

Hi Lovelies, We have been having so much fun at the shop lately making these stunning foamiran flowers! They turned out beautifully so we just had to share them with you! These lovely flowers look amazing and are actually so simple to make! All you need to make these flowers is the fantastic new Couture Creations Foamiran, your favourite flower die, a heat tool, stamens and inks if you wish. The Foamiran sheets make flower making and absolute breeze, as all you need to do is heat and scrunch to form these beautiful flowers! We added stamens to secure the petal layers together and add some delicate detail to the centre. We have a large collection of these sweet little stamens in-store so you're sure to find some that suit your project! The fun part about creating your own flowers is getting to customise the colour completely. We used a selection of Tim Holtz Inks to create some gorgeous soft and vibrant flowers. Once you try making these flowers y...

Interactive Double Layout

Hi Lovelies, Today I'm sharing with you another sneak peek of an upcoming double Layout Class whit the wonderful Helen! In this class you will create two stunning layouts using two different ranges, both of them having interactive pieces which makes them super fun to create and look at! The first layout features the new Bo Bunny 'Cotton Tail' range which is filled with various pastel coloured flowers and patterns with lots of adorable bunnies hidden among them. This layout is perfect for all of those precious Easter photos you would have collected over the past few weeks. As I mentioned earlier, this layout also features a fun little interactive element, which also doubles on practicality. With this lift out you can add two photos to the one section of the layout or hide a special secret message. This chipboard sentiment is so gorgeous and intricate! Helen has inked the chipboard to match the layout and added a light coat of crackle accents to make it rea...

Vintage Artistry Tag

Hi Lovelies, We have made good use of the 'Vintage Artistry' collection by 49 & Market and Helen has put it to use again by creating two stunning tags which will be taught in the one class. This collection is very neutral toned, which has allowed us to incorporate it into many different projects. Helen has pulled out the green tones in the ferns for these tags by using different inking techniques. A feature of these tags is the wonderful butterflies which Helen has added the perfect finishing touches to make them really standout. There are so many little bits and pieces that make up this tag which have been carefully selected by the wonderful Helen. The second tag also features two delicate keys liked with a brass chain. We just love metal embellishments here at The Scrap N Patch and you are sure to find some you love as well from our extensive collection (and I'm serious when i say extensive). As we mentioned earlier, Helen has using vario...

Art Journal - Tulips & Tea Bags

Hi Lovelies, Helen is back again with yet another marvelous Art Journal page! As always, the class is jam packed with wonderful techniques, tips and tricks and you walk away with a stunning page to show for it! This week's page consists of burnt brown and red shades with lots of different torn mediums and six wild tulips, finished with a lovely inspiring sentiment. Helen will teach you in the class how to layer pieces of music paper and tea bags (yes that's correct) to create the prefect base for the journal page.   Only three colours of Jo Sonjas paints are required to create the entire page! It's all about the techniques used which allow you to maximize the effects of the paint- which the talented Helen will show with you.   This page is just stunning and is both soft and bold at the same time. We are always impressed by Helen's new creations week after week and are never disappointed.    We love how corrugated card can add the perfect amoun...
