Nautical ATC Class

Hi Lovelies, Today I'm sharing with you some photos of what ladies got up to in one of our previous Artist Trading Card classes! Obviously this week's ATC's have a nautical theme, so the Couture Creations 'Sea Breeze' die set was the perfect accompaniment! The stunning watery background for both the card and die cuts is attributed to the wonderful Tim Holtz Oxides! These inks are extremely versatile and have such a unique finish. These cards measure at 2.5" x 3.5" and are the perfect size to give as gifts to friends, pop in your daily diary or mix in with your pocket scrapping. Liz used a light layer of clear embossing powder over the oxide inked die-cuts which gives a beautiful watery effect.  If you've been watching our Blog space lately you would know we're currently on a bit of a Crackle Texture Paste craze! I'm sure you will be too after you try it as it truly takes your project up that extra notch! Similarly ...

Fairie Dust January & February Page

Hi Lovelies, I'm back again to show you INSIDE the Fairie Dust Year of Photos Album! For this series of classes, ladies create a new page in the album each month and this year we are using a single stunning range.   Things are always busy at the start of the year, so to catch up, both the Album and the January page were made on the one day!   Helen is a master at layering techniques and attendees are sure to pick these up in classes throughout the year. Her albums are always stunning which can be attributed to layering the right patterned and solid papers and complimenting them with gorgeous embellishments.   This vibrant green tassel accompanied by a delicate bow at the top of the page is only a portion of the luxurious embellishments to come in this Album. February's page features three lovely cut outs with a glitter mat, which have been foam mounted onto the page. A very simple method which creates a beautiful ...

Art Journal Fairy Houses

Hi Lovelies, At the start of this year the lovely Helen began our year of Art Journal classes  with this adorable page of fairy houses.  All the pages were hand printed using a Gel Press Plate, allowing each student to personalize their pages and the final outcome of their project.  After everyone had printed their pages, they then cut different shapes and arranged them to form little houses.  Students then added the final details of outlining,  stenciling vines and punching flowers. How adorable is this tiny little spider and it's web? Helen has quite the collection of art Journals and there is always one in store for you to browse. So come on in for a cup of tea and an up-close look at her masterpieces.

Go Press and Foil Fun

Hi lovelies, Yesterday a couple of ladies joined me for a morning of playing with the Couture Creations Go Press and Foil Machine. We had such a fun time, and ladies created some lovely samples. Some we turned into card fronts and some even got turned into cards.   Everything was going along just fine. Then we started foiling ribbon. One of the ladies used the "Celebrate" Stamp to create this. We were all thought that the stamp was faulty. We even went so far as to call the lovely ladies at ArtDeco Creations to ask if anyone else had experienced the same problem. Then we found out that if you put it the correct way up it is just perfect. I often joke that we "Hill-folk" are a little different.  We laughed and laughed. Hope it made you smile.

Class Fun - Sampler Canvas

Hi lovelies, Recently a group of ladies joined with Helen to make this beautiful Mixed Media sampler.  They began with a blank canvas and some chipboard bits,  Added gesso, texture paste and paint. then they took an assortment of flowers, metals, lace and ribbons  The next step was to add a bit of colour with Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals. As the day went on, some remained  more enthusiastic than others.  and you always get that one who wants a different colour. All in all, the ladies had a wonderful day creating their own masterpiece.

10 Cards with Liz

Hi lovelies, Each month I have a 10 card class and in July I used the  fabulous Sea Breeze range from Couture Creations.   I am an avid fan of all things sea and beach related and I just loved playing with this range,   The range features papers, stamps,  embossing folders, trinkets and embellishments.   Not all the ladies enjoyed piecing the 2 sea horse die cuts, but I think it looked great when done.     The "Framing the Breeze" embossing folder  was my favourite of the collection.   While I try and keep the cards fairly simple, we are always challenged to get the cards completed in class. Ladies do always leave with everything cut, prepped and  ready for assembly.

Monday Mannequin with Helen

Hi lovelies, Today I thought I would share with you one of the lovely Mannequins that   Helen designs for classes in the store.    This delightful lady is called Vanessa She was taught in January this year,  and has been one of the most popular designs so far. She features some gorgeous laces, flowers and pearls. Those who attend the classes always have such a great time. Keep an eye out for more of these gorgeous ladies.

Art Journal Fun

Hi lovelies, Today we got together to have fun Helen's Art Journal Techniques class. We all chat non-stop, and I don't know how Helen puts up with us.  We all turned up with our white papers and other goodies.  Helen patiently guided us through the many steps  - painting -  - stenciling -  - spraying -  - stamping - and generally making mess. It was such fun. These classes are held twice a month.  The next class is Tuesday June 27. Be sure to book early.
