Budapest Adventures

Hi all, Yesterday we spent most of the day travelling to get to Budapest from Paris which is all of 1 1/2 hrs by plane. Most of the rest of time was spent in the waiting or travelling in the transport vehicles. In Paris that took about 2 hrs to eventually get to the airport. Hint - Don't use shuttle services in Paris!! It's crazy as it is without moving about picking up various others. From the air Budapest has lots of ponds of water Budapest is such a nice change from Paris hustle and bustle. It seems more laid back and not really that busy. We walked about at night and during the day comfortably with no hustlers or feeling overwhelmed. Last night we headed to the markets after tea. This is the Budapest Christmas markets. While not that large but they were really good to see. Lots of  different food and handmade crafts. I blame Lizzy but I did buy a few items as well 😄. We tried the 'cronut as it seems to be called filled with custard and topped

Paris Day 2

Hi Lovelies, Today was our final day to see things in Paris, and we certainly made a fine effort to pack as much in as we could. After breakfast we headed for the Arc De Triomphe to catch the bus. Today we were off to find Montmartre, and and the artist square. We were unable to find any reference to the square, but not to be deterred we headed in the direction of Basilique Du Sacre-Coeur Chapel. This was amazing, as were the steps to reach it. Being kind to ourselves we caught the cable car up. Sacre-Coeur Chapel Back to the amazingness of the chapel. We were blessed to arrive in the midst of a choral and prayer service. The music was so peaceful, and sounded just like you would here in a medieval movie.                                 The architecture of the church was also amazing, and it is huge, with ceilings that reach for the sky. We also ventured down into the crypt, which was just as large and also had very high ceilings. The crypt has a n

Paris by day and night

Hi lovelies, Another couple of full days. We had our last day in Edinburgh on Monday, and we wandered a bit more and tried to see more wonders.     Has a lucky nose !! You have to hear the story of Blackfriars Bobby (dog)  We visited the Scottish National Museum, and the building was amazing. It was purpose built to house the exhibitions. We had a wonderful time. This animal has been bred back into existence via Zebras It was then back to the motel to do the washing and get packed so we could fly out the next day. Tuesday was an interesting day. We were collected promptly from our motel at 10am, and did not arrive at our motel in Paris until after 8pm. Not bad for a 1 1/2 hour flight. 🥺 . We were very tired teddies when we arrived. Our motel is beautiful, and if we look out the front door we can see the Eiffel Tower. There are a number of cafes nearby and we have sampled the fare at a couple of them. Last night I tried steak
