Art Journal 28th July

Hi Lovelies,

Here is one of our previous Art Journal Technique classes ran by the wonderful Helen.
Lots of tearing, stamping and inking was involved in the process of this
gorgeous page which ensured the ladies had bundles of fun!

For the statement of the page, ladies created four tags using Distress Oxides
and torn music paper to feature stamped dragonflies.

Helen used layers of book paper, music paper, stenciled texture paste and
script stamps to build up the background of the page.

Helen's Art Journal pages quite often include a quote, phrase or sentiment.
For this page the quote "Art has no rules so have fun!" was included across both pages.

Helen used a multi-size circle stencil and some texture paste to add dimension to the page.
The texture paste can be inked lightly with your favourite colour to lift it off the page.

Little rings of jute twine were added to the tags and
look like the busy flight paths of the dragonflies.

Every week there's something new to learn in our Art Journal classes and new
memories to be made with the lovely ladies who come along.
If you wish to join in the fun please call to book.

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive plac...

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to ...
