Day 4 - Tin Can Bay

Evening Lovelies,

Today was another wonderful day, though it did start out a little chilly.

This morning Gramps and I went off to a-hunting and a-gathering at the local supermarket to get supplier for lunch and dinner.  When we arrived back Nana and I tackled a cryptic crossword togtether while Gramps read the paper.  Very civilized really.

Robbie went off this morning to again try his hand at fishing.  This time he went down to the point where the locals had suggested.  Alas it was another fish-less adventure for him 😞.

After lunch today we decided to take a trip to Rainbow Beach.  It is some 40 years since I have been there and it has certainly changed.  No longer a sleepy little town with not much more than a servo.

We had a walk around at the Lawrie Hansen Park, and checked out the Cherry Venture propeller.  We were camping on Fraser Island when it ran aground.  Big news back then.

The view from the lookout is spectacular, and the coastline has really not changed in all that time. We asked Gramps to take a photo of us there.  It took him a bit to work out where his fingers should not go. 😂

We then took the road to Inskip Point, which is totally new.  We used to have to run the beach to get to the point, unless you were one of the lucky ones who could take the mining road.  It is now bitumen all bar the last 100 meters or so.

There are campsites dotted along the road, and they would be lovely places to camp. The beach is now closed to vehicles from Rainbow beach to Inskip Point.  No more bogged cars, or having to dodge the waves and work the tide.  Memories are great, but perhaps not so much for those who drove in those days.

We wandered down to the beach, and it is as beautiful as I remember.  We watched the barge leave the mainland and head for the island.  We have planned to return tomorrow with some fishing gear for the boys, and a book for me 😎

Back to the car and a short trip to Carlo Point where we again had a wander around the jetty and watched a couple of boats come in.  We were amazed to see a dolphin following the boats in.  The cheeky thing was looking for a free feed from anyone who was throwing bait or other goodies for him.

Home again and it was fish and chips for dinner tonight.  There was no nap today, so it will be early to bed for this little traveller.

Have a great night everyone.

Lizzy

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
