New South Wales Adventures - Valla Beach and surrounds.

Hi lovelies,

My turn to share our adventures today.

As today was supposed to be as hot and windy as yesterday we decided to do a little bit of a road trip.

We headed away from Valla Beach towards Valla.   Robbie has decided that after yet another dirt road, I am perhaps not the person to do the planning of drives 😊.  Better than cliffs I think.

I thought it was a lovely drive.  Our first destination was the small town of Bowraville.

It was very quiet for a Saturday morning.

We did find the Military Museum open and it was well worth the visit.  For such a little town the display there was amazing.  So much information and history.

I was impressed by the collection of Anzac Biscuit tins 😋

From there we headed to Macksville where we had been told that there was a machinery display happening.

This town lies on the Nambucca River and is simply beautiful.  We drove a little and found where the display was happening, parked a bit away on the side of the road, walked in the horrid heat to find out it was the Qld equivalent of FarmFest.  A machinery display indeed.
We decided not to visit, and instead drove back along the river to find somewhere to have some morning tea.  This we did achieve.

It was so peaceful and relaxing.  We spent some time watching someone on the river trying to ski, and even more watching a fisherman clean his catch for the morning.  He was also egerly watched by seagulls and pelicans.

From there we headed to Nambucca Heads.  After visiting the information center we headed to The V Wall.

This is another rock wall that has been painted by tourists and locals.  At the start of the wall there is a beautiful little bay where the water is very gentle and shallow.  Perfect for swimming with little ones.

The water was so clear we could see the fish swimming near the rocks.

From there it was back to the van for a late lunch, and a bit of a rest and a read.
Around 5pm Robbie decided to try his hand at a spot of fishing.  It was only about 100 meters from the van so I also wandered down to find a shady spot to read.

About ½ hour in I was chased away by the sandflies, and Robbie joined me not long after.  He only had 1 bite, and managed to catch a stick.

The expected wind did not appear today, though it was very hot and we were thankful for any breeze that was about.

It was another day where we realized how blessed we are to being able to explore this beautiful and varied country.

All for tonight lovelies.

Stay safe and keep enjoying life.
Rob and Lizzy

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
