3 days in Nimbin

Hi lovelies,

We have spent the last 3 days in Nimbin, and have embraced the laid back lifestyle with both hands (not that we needed too much of a shove).

We left Killarney on Sunday morning, traveled through Woodenbong, Kyogle and Lismore to the Nimbin Showgrounds.

It was a lovely morning drive, and fairly uneventful, except for the flat tire when we arrived at the park.

My hero Robbie changed the tire and we got set up.  It was a little warm here so a Sunday afternoon nap was in order.

Monday we headed into the town center to see all that Nimbin had to offer.

Our first trip was to the Candle Factory.  I found this really interesting (are you shocked).  The owner chatted with us and told us how the candles are made.

All the candles are hand dipped or poured.

Colours can be added individually with cotton buds or spoons.  The used pieces make great artwork.

I would have loved to find out how this piece was made, but I forgot to ask 😞

And the "drippings" seem as pretty as the candles themselves.   It made me feel not so bad about the mess I make when painting.

I was very reserved and only purchased 3 candles, but we can always go back tomorrow before we leave.

We then wandered off to the town centre.

All the shop along the street have a similar theme.  Burning incense, bright coloured clothing, hand made items, assorted "weed" products and paraphernalia.  Even the grocer, bakery and numerous cafes participated in the theme.

I have my own middle aged, middle class, moderately staid thoughts on why people live here - it is an excuse for women not to wear bras, for men to not wear shirts, to not have to comb your hair, for women to wear the first 5 items of clothing they take out of the clothes basket, and to use "environmental" as an excuse to not mow the lawn or do any form of gardening.  Enough of my judgmental attitude.

It is a lovely town, and people are very laid back and quite friendly.

In the afternoon we went for a drive into Lismore to have the tire fixed, and collect some essentials.  As usual I thought we should take a different route to the way we came in.

It was a lovely drive, and  I was thankful that there were no dirt roads or the driver may have had a word or two for me.😛  I was a lovely drive and I spotted 2 letterboxes, alas speedy would not slow down so I could get a pic.  Someone has to tell him that we are on a journey, not in a race.

We did spot these two men who I was convinced were fishing off the side of the bridge.

Today was a rest day,  we fed the chickens, I did some journal work, Robbie worked on the shop.

I think we would fit into this lifestyle very easily.

Alas tomorrow we are on the move again.

All for tonight.

Stay safe and keep enjoying life.

Love Us.

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
