From Mann to Manning

Hi lovelies,

Well it is a few days since we shared our adventures.

For the last 3 days we sat around the caravan at Mann River as it was raining.

We did manage to go for a trip back to Cangai Bridge for a swim and lunch.

Saw some of the local wildlife there,

and some art work by visitors.

We watched some beautiful birds who decided to eat some of the seed we put out for them.

We went for another swim, still in the Mann River, but down from the park.

I sorted my stash box I brought to use in my journal.

Rob did some fishing.

Pretty chilled all in all.

Today we left Mann River and headed south for the Manning River. We are staying in Harrington. A lovely coastal town.

The Caravan Park is fabulous.

Just a short drive to the beach, which of course we did today.

A drive up to Pilot Lookout. Beautiful scenery again.

and interestingly there was a small cemetery there also.

Found some interesting characters.

A walk along the breakwater.

Saw some greedy pelicans and seagulls chasing after fishing scraps.

A trip out to Crowdy Bay

and up to to the lighthouse.

It was then a quick trip to Taree grab some staples, and then back to the van for dinner.

All short and sweet today.

A magical day at Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers

Today was our planned helicopter ride to see the glacier and have a snow landing. We were a tad worried as the weather report the night before was not all that encouraging. We had a bit of a slow start and checked in at the flight desk at 10am as requested. The advice was, the flight would go ahead - however with the changing weather conditions the snow landing would be determined on a minute by minute basis. If the landing was scrapped we would have additional flight time added to keep our trip to the same length. Honestly we were just happy to be able to take off. Safety briefing done, the loading crew led us to the helipads. They were pretty cool. Looked a little like landing pads for space craft. New South Wales Adventure - Armidale

We today we ventured about Armidale on foot. We started at the markets having a look see at what they had at the farmers market. A few marketers so not much to see today really. Off we walked around town to see the historical sights. Lots of old buildings from the early days. In Armidale 100 years ago you had a choice of 21 Hotels!! Today there are 9. Sorry beer lovers. The original Bank of NSW These guys had a 4 displays of miniature figurines- really cool Baptist Church Lots of churches within cooee of each other ; Catholic, C of E, Pressy, and Baptist. Lovely old buildings to be admired. Catholic Church grounds - Large area. Home to the St Ursuline Convent Pressy Church Town Hall Court House This Celtic cross was erected to commemorate the first Christian service held here in 1845. Three days in the snow.

Hi lovelies, We have had the most amazing 3 days at the Perisher Valley Snowfields. Warning this is a very text heavy post. Photos are limited, you cannot take many while you ski/board. Robbie will have a video soon. On Monday we headed up just for a drive and to see what was around. The day was perfect. Not too windy and bright and sunny. We parked at Bullock Flats and caught the Skitube to Perisher. This is really the best way to get there. Nice highway all the way, and while the train is a little expensive at $55.00 per head return it is preferable to an extra hour drive on roads that may be a little less than ideal. There is also only limited parking at Perisher so the train is the way to go. We had a bit of a look around Perisher before heading off to Blue Cow, again by Skitube.
