Middle Brother National Park and Cattai Wetlands

Hi Friends and Rellies following our blog, Hubbies turn to blog tonight. Busy day today, been up the bush, walking wetlands, fishing, and swimming. Read to find out what we got up to.

First we headed off to Middle Brother National Park. This is one of three mountains that came into being during the Dreamtime, with the legend of 3 brothers who died and left behind 3 mountains.

We ventured up there to see the Bird Tree, the biggest tree in NSW apparently. Yes, more dirt roads and rocky stuff up via a logging track. Lots of trees were interesting to see. It seems the Grey Gums shed there bark leaving a reddy tinge till they turn white after sometime.

This is the Bird Tree base and looking skyward.

This is a similar tree and they seem to have "legs" which hold the weight of the tree. This one has a huge gap in the middle. It is massive as well.

After this sightseeing we ventured off to see the Wetlands at Cattai. A vegetated area brought back from farm land to restore the natural balance of this section of wetlands. It is used by schools to teach about wetlands with lots of information on birds and trees around the area on the walking track.

We wandered around the wetlands checking out the various trees and wildlife. We ventured up to the lookout and down to the old wharf , though nothing of that left.

Off home for lunch, then ventured fishing at the rock wall. Lots of bites only a few small fish that had to go back.
Home we went with no fish :(  We decided to go up and try out the Caravan park pool. It was quite nice but a bit cool here at 6.30pm even if it is daylight savings.

Well after that full day we need a break so taking it easy tomorrow.

Hope you are enjoying following our adventures.
We are having a great time exploring what is around us.

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
