Caves Beach

Hi all, another day of exploring this terrific area.
We went to visit Caves Beach today and had to do so at low tide due to the caves accessibility being blocked at high tide. The beach itself was a long and flat where the tide moves up the beach some 15-20 m from low to high.

The main claim to fame are the beach caves. The water has eroded a number of small and large caves that aren't deep but very interesting.

Some have swallows living within them. You can make your way around the bay by going through the cave to the next area. 1 area we had to time it so as not to get too wet as the tide washed through.

After exploring the caves we wandered back to do the walk on the cliff edge (not that close). It was great to get a good view of the area. We even spoke to some fisherman who were fishing from the cliff. (yes they caught a Kingfish that we saw).

We then looked up the Petrified Forest near the entrance to the Lake Macquarie , Swansea Heads. We wandered around looking for the wood, and eventually realized that it was next to us. It seems that the forest was suddenly buried long ago and is now petrified and broken up around the shoreline.

Rob did some fishing at the point while Liz read her book and took pictures of all my  LARGE fish :). He did managed to catch a few brim and a leather jacket which was a first. They all went back sadly no eating fish yet!

We had a lunch there and then ventured back to the van for a quick rest then more fishing out front for a bit.

Who know what tomorrow will bring - more exploring to do.

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
