A day at Narooma

Hi lovelies, After a cool blowy night we work this morning to beautiful sunshine and just a gentle breeze. After breakfast we decided to go for a walk on the beach at the front of the park. It was lovely to walk along the sand.  Rock formations enclose both ends of the bay, and there is a secluded area at the north end where Robbie thinks he might try his hand at fishing soon. The view out to Montague Island is pretty.  Not pretty enough for Rob to agree to a trip out there, but pretty none the less.  😏 We had some debate about why these holes were in the rocks.  I think they are for penguins, or sand fairies. 😄 We did see a man fishing on the beach.  He had caught a tailor.  Robbie had a chat with him about bait/lures etc and so after our walk it was a trip into town to visit the information center, and for Robbie to collect supplies from the tackle shop. On the way back to the ban we decided to stop again at the bre...

Nelligen, Tuross Heads and Naroom - with a touch of seal.

Hi lovelies, What a wonderful day we have had today.  We got to see some seals having a sleep on the rocks of the breakwater in Naroom. But before I go on more about them, I need to tell you what we did for the past couple of days, and about our travels today. Thursday the weather cleared and we went off for a bit of a drive. Nelligen is a sleepy little town on the banks of the Clyde River about 15 minutes from Batemans Bay. Many of the buildings are heritage listed and the outside of them has been kept in good condition.  The building are now all privately owned, so you don't get to wander around and see the insides. A ferry operated across the river until 1964 when the bridge was opened. The road connects Canberra with Batemans Bay.  I think if we had the length of delay that road users faced prior to the bridge there may have been some major road rage incidents.  Hopefully in days gone past, people were not in so much of a hurry....

Our few days.

Hi lovelies, I know it has been a few days.  We have moved from Jervis Bay and are now at the lovely town of Batemans Bay.  On Saturday we headed off to Moruya to check out the local markets.  It is about 1/2 hour south of Batemans Bay and quite a pleasant drive. The markets were quite large and had lots on offer.  Our purchase for the morning was a pair of gloves for me.  It has been a bit chilly here. From the markets we took a trip to Moruya Head to see if we could see any whales.  None appeared this time.  The rock formations at the lookout were really quite special.  As were these gorgeous little fellows who were playing at the nearby beach. It was then off to the village of Mogo.  We had passed this on the way to the markets and decided it would be worth a stop on the way back.    I found a scrapbook store.  Ladies if you thought I packed a lot into the 'Patch', you have not seen anyth...
