Still exploring

Ok guys,
here is the latest update from the explorers!
Yesterday we ventured about 40mins from here up to Wiseman's ferry. A lovely spot which I guess now is famous for all the water ski schools. Yes it has a couple of ferries to go across the Hawkesbury River.

I stepped in a pile of mud as well

We took the ferry across the river to visit the famous Convict Trail. They were used to build a road across to the Hunter Region. The surveying was top notch and the construction stand the test of time.

Lots of hard labour was used to split rocks and chip the sandstone into rectangular shapes to build the edges of the road retaining wall and clear a path through. Most was with a pick and shovel or a sledgy and a iron bar to jam into the sandstone to split the rock up.

We ventured across and back to Cattai camp grounds to check it out. (Gotta pay to visit these places). A nice river camp area and across the river a well landscaped out property.

Today we booked a paddle boat cruise down the Hawkesbury from Windsor. (Tried last visit but wasn't operating). We jumped on at 10am and the trip ended at 2pm with lots of nice food served for morning tea and lunch. We had a good time relaxing and watching the scenery and chatting with a group from Victoria and the captain.

We even got to have a go at steering the boat. That was fun. At 2 knots and a chain and bar steering, and the way the boat moves, was not that easy to make it go in a straight line. It takes time to get the boat going in the right direction due to the slow speed. We saw people fishing, jet skiing and water skiing up and down the river.

Another fun day exploring this country. Till the next blog....

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
