Bombola to Buckenderra

Well it was a tad cold last night at Bombola dropping to around about -4 felt like -6. We didn't really feel it too much till we woke up and had to pack up and move to Buckenderra. Went to turn the tap on only to discover the hoses were frozen solid. It was crunchy to step outside with all the frost as well.

everything is icy and frosty

Liz's thongs left outside

So after a chat with another bloke decided to poor hot water over the connections to get them off the taps, then drag them out to the road to try and defrost them. After a little while we hooked the hose up to the tap and tried to run the water through, but no luck. After crunching the hose a bit to break up the ice we eventually got ice out.
This was interesting to see ice slowly oozing out

My hands were freezing even with gloves on dealing with wet stuff, getting the hoses running and the drain hoses stayed blocked till we got here.

Well we set up and that was easy stuff. Lizzy has spent the whole day on the phone or texting with our boy and a nephew flying around the country and world, children calling about car issues, cooking advice, Judy B in hospital with  heart operation, Gramps with skin rash issue, wow flat out today with all sorts of stuff.
A view of the park and dam

We ventured up to the the kiosk here so I can find out about .. you guessed it fishing. Needed some advice and gear to trout fish here at the lake. So got me some advice and a bit of gear to give it a shot shortly.
Our spot for a couple of weeks
We are the hunt here for wombats, echidnas and other wild life. Lots of scat at our campsite.

We're hoping to venture into the snow fields shortly. I wanna try snowboarding so will find out the details tomorrow. Been skiing before not snowboarding so gotta do it now before I get any older and senile. Also looking at a horse ride up in the Snowies - that sounds great!! Thredbo.

On the way here we saw some cool sights. The huge wind farm along a few ridges was interesting to see. They are massive and very quite. Lizzy said they were pretty, I said pretty interesting.

Then in the distance we spotted the snow covered mountains pop out of nowhere. That was a really cool sight. The country here is sheep farms with the odd cow and horse. Saw some little lambies as well.

Till next time .... Rob & Liz

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive plac...

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to ...
