Narooma to Kalaru

Hi lovelies,

Today we traveled to Kalaru, which is between Bega and Tathra.

Our last two days in Narooma we stayed put as it was raining.  Keryn, Helen and Judy - my journal is again up to date :-).

There was still a bit of low cloud about as we left this morning and it did make for pretty sights.

We stopped at the Bega Cheese Factory for a look, this building also houses the information center so it was a 2 for 1 deal.

The display of relics and memorabilia was pretty cool.

The fact that this small building inside the center was a cheese factory was pretty amazing.  You apparently do not need much room to make cheese.

This design took first place at Sydney Show in 2000.  It is made entirely from seeds.

We then headed into town to grab some supplies and spotted this memorial.  We have not seen one like this before.

Then it was off to find our park for the next week.  Kalaru is only 3km from the coast, so after lunch we headed off for a drive to see what was around.

We found Chamberlain Lookout, which gives a fabulous view of some coastline, and even more wonderful were the couple of whales that we saw.  Sorry your pic is of the coastline, not the whales.

We then headed to Tathra Wharf.  This is the only remaining open-sea wooden wharf on the east coast.

It dates from the times of the coastal steamer.  The wharf is really well maintained and had a number of people fishing from it.

Robbie is planning a trip back there for fishing.

We then headed around to Tathra Beach, where we managed to get a different view of the wharf.  It really is an amazing structure.

A bit more of a look around and then back to the van.

Wildlife today has included some fluffy cotton tailed bunnies who were have a fight (no pic), along with a group of birds having an afternoon snack.

A couple of peacocks, who were a little camera shy, and as the light faded we found a number of large kangaroos around the park.

It is a tad cool here tonight with an expected low of 2 overnight.  I am giving thanks for woolly socks and reverse cycle air-con.

Stay safe lovelies and keep enjoying life.

Love us.

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
