New South Wales Adventures - Walcha region.

Hi lovelies,

I hope that you all survived the storms last night.  We were fine here.  A little rain and the wind was a little savage, but no hail thankfully.

This morning we headed for Walcha and two of the falls in that area.  Or we would have if Robbie had not gotten lost coming out of the van carpark 😊.

After setting him back in the right direction we were off.  It was a lovely drive, and it was wonderful to see some green fields as we headed east.

There were also a few areas where farmers were grazing their cattle on the side of the road.  The cows looked so gentle and content, and most of the time they could not care if there was a car waiting to go past as they ambled across the road.

Tia Falls was our first stop.  It was a short walk to see the falls, and they were pretty while being a little scary with the height.

From the falls lookout it is then a short walk to see the gorge which was spectacular.

We left there and headed to Apsley Falls.  There were quite a few lookout points in this park.  Our first walk took us across the suspension bridge that crosses the river.

There was not a lot of water, but it was also really pretty.  I only got half way across before the bridge began to wobble a little, so it was a quick turn around and back to land.

We then wandered down to “Landslide” lookout.  Now the name should have said it all really.  It overlooked the gorge, with wonderful views of natural landsides that take place.  The last one was several years ago, but who knows when the next one will be.

Then it was to the falls lookout.  This too is a pretty waterfall, and pretty high.

We headed back to the parking and day visitor area where we settled in for a quick bite of lunch.  Such a pretty view.  We really are blessed to have so many beautiful natural areas to visit and enjoy.

After lunch we went to the last lookout in the park, called Lions Lookout.  Now from my point of view it was situated directly over where the last landslide was.  I have to say I did not trust this lookout at all and stayed well back from the edge.  I don’t care how nice the view, I did not want to be part of the next persons view from Landslide lookout.

From there we headed back to Walcha.  We were thinking of staying there, but due to the art trail being held in the area this weekend it was booked out.

We did have a wander through the town and saw a lot of the sculptures that are dotted around the area.

We did have a wander through the town and saw a lot of the sculptures that are dotted around the area.  Some pretty cool, others not so much.

We did find out at the information centre that the falls have had no water for 3 months and it was only in the last few days they have been flowing.  Another blessing.

Back to the van where we did some chores and had a rest, but not a nap.

Tomorrow is scheduled as a day off for us.  We plan to spend the time reading, art journaling and doing some online maintenance.  HOWEVER, there is an Art and Craft Exhibition in town, so we will be headed there for a look.

All for today lovelies,
Keep enjoying life

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive plac...

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to ...
