Hunting Nessie

Hi lovelies,

What a wonderful few days we have had. Too tired yesterday to blog, which is exciting, but now you have 2 days worth of our adventures to read.

We started yesterday morning with trying to find a post office so that we could return a credit card that had been left in our van. As it has been left with the PIN number we could have had such a merry time, but then sleep would be guilt-ridden, and just ask my Mum, I don’t need help I that 😊.

We then headed to The Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition in Drumnadrochit. It was pretty cool. Lots of information on the Loch and the search for Nessie.
Loch Ness

From there we headed back along the highway to Culloden where we visited the site of the final Jacobite Rising. We did a tour with the lovely Katherine, who gave such a wonderful commentary on the history of this very moving site.
It was pretty cold, with a bitter wind and was sprinkling of rain. Not at all like the weather faced by the soldiers, but it did give us a bit of a visual.

Colloden Battlefield where the end of the clan system began

It was then back to the caravan park where we crashed pretty early.

Today seemed like an early start, not really time wise, but at 8.30am it was still dark.

Our destination was the Dochgarrock Lock where we were going to board a catamaran and enjoy a cruise around Loch Ness, with a tour of Urquhart Castle.

Both of these were fabulous. There was only a gentle breeze while we were on the Loch, and the weather remained fine. The cruise narrative was not only informative, but also pretty funny. The gentleman was a great entertainer.

Loch Ness is Huge. Holds more fresh water than England and Wales combined

We then disembarked the cat and spent 2 hours exploring the castle. Our guide this time was Paul, and he too shared a wealth of knowledge about the castle and its history.
It was then back on the boat and we returned to Dochgarroch.

Going down !!

For those that are interested, I did find Nessie. Chocolate never lies. 😉

We left Inverness and headed north again. Our destination was Brora, where we are spending the night.
Lots of bridges to cross, which water at low tide. The mountains in this area are becoming quite bare and not as green as those further south.

Dornoch area

On the way we stopped at the little village of Dornoch. This town was on our wish list to visit Cocoa Mountain. A chocolate company we had seen on Snake Pit before we left. We did buy a little chocolate, and had a quick look around before heading off again.
All for now lovelies.
Stay safe and keep enjoying life.
Love us.

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
