Nuremberg

Hi lovelies,

Today we arrived in the lovely town of Nuremberg.
We arrived early and spent the morning with some wonderful activities.
Our first adventure was learning basic German. We are not very good. It hopefully we will get some practice over the next week. Guten tag all.
Markets again
I then had a rest while Robbie went to an information session on the Danube-Main Canal system that we are travelling through. It rises 1300 ft to the highest point then descends. The canal connects the North Sea near Uk to the Black Sea. It has been an idea since the around 900AD. It has had a few tries at being successful, but it took the engineering brilliance of the 1990's to make it as well as peace in Europe so they could decide who is in control of what section.
remember rivers aren't flat
The cost to build was a massive 2.35 billion euros or 14 million per km of canal. It stretches 171km in all. It is far cheaper to send heavy things by via this canal than any other method.

We then had lunch, cause it was so long since we ate. Robbie had 2 deserts and our boys are judging him. 😂
come on they were small :)

Hitler's attempt to build a big coliseum

We then headed off for a bus tour of the city and a visit to the Christmas Markets.

We visited the Rally Point where the army used to hold rallies to hear Hitler speak. There is much discussion over whether the area should be demolished or kept.

The Rally point
Nuremberg is the site of the Nazi propaganda machine and the place of the war crimes trials.
We also saw the old castle and city walls. This area is nearly intact after the war, and the most is a sight to see. It is now used to host Oktoberfest. Our guide informed us that you could not originally see the castle walls because of the number of revellers who surrounded the area, but so many fell into the moat that they moved the festival there.
5 towers still board the old city walls
Part of the fortified city
The Christmas markets were huge in the town with more than 180 stalls. We wandered around and had another marvellous time. (Nurnberger Christkindlesmarkt)
A special golden memorial in town

2000 people just from cruise ships were here today

5 euros will get you a ride
It was then back to the boat where tonight we were blessed to see and hear a marvellous violinist. She was so wonderful to listen to.
Lots of onboard entertainment

The ship has a pool, lounge, and dining area 3 levels of cabins

Then dinner and now bed. I remembered to plug my apnoea machine battery in today, unlike yesterday when it went flat at midnight. I am looking forward to a bit more sleep tonight. 😊

Stay safe lovelies and keep enjoying life
Love us.

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
