Port Stephen's and the Tea Gardens

Hi loyal followers, another busy and eventful day at Port Stephen’s.

We decided that we would we venture from Pt Stephen’s over to Tea Garden, (No there are no real tea garden just a name), to wander around and check out the sights.

What a great idea it was to go over early on the Pt Stephen’s Ferry Service at 8.30am. We were the only passengers and yes, we got to see the dolphins ride along with us at the front of the boat. Other trips were not that lucky as us on the early trip.

The trip takes about an hour as it must go around the channel, then into the Myall River to dock at Tea Garden. It was calm and Rob didn’t even get a bit sick.

We got off and found out we had our map upside down. Beware of the navigator!!, but it didn’t matter we walked over towards Bennett’s Beach which was about 40 min one way over the bridge we go. A good piece of exercise for the day.

What a great beach and spot to swim and just laze about. Crystal clear water and a gentle surf. The beach sweeps left and right for miles. Why didn’t we take our togs we were saying!!

Bennett's Beach

After a brief stop and rest, and a paddle in the water, we headed back for a lunch of Fish & Chips.

More wooden poles commemorating local settlers
After a brief wait in the shade we got back on the Ferry and headed home. It really was worth the time and money to see this place and have the cruise on the bay.

Back home for a nice swim in the pool here to cool down because it is still hot here.

Yesterday we did a couple of jobs around the van due to breakages to the Jockey wheel and the connectors to the van from the car. Luckily, we put our heads together and sorted out those things.
After doing the shopping for these things we went to a jetty to do some fishing.

swimming spot
Yes, lots of bites but all that was caught were little fellows who went straight back. After a short time, we said that was enough of having the bait chewed off as soon it hit the bottom, so we went for a swim in the bay next to the wharf. It was nice and cool and enjoyable.
We also went up to Gan Gan lookout to get view of the bay. It was quite nice, but some smoke haze about made it a bit hard to see clearly too far.

Native plants - these are everywhere
Well we are having a Whale of a time.

We thought you had to keep separation between Church and State 😊

Well that all for folks for now. Tune in again next time for the next episode of our adventures in NSW.

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part

Dylusions Dy-Cuts Art Journal

Hi Lovelies, This week's edition of Art Journal is very special, stunning and unique! We can't get enough of all the textures and colours going on in this page! We just love this.  This wonderful page features the Dylusions 'Dy-Cuts' which are quirky and colorful pre-cut shapes which make the perfect addition to any art journal page! You probably can already guess what paints we have used this week... The stunning, vibrant colours which are leaping of this page, are of course, Dylusions paints! When you take a closer look at you can see the texture and elements which have been layered to create this stunning page. A script stamp is perfect for layering and can fill in any gaps where you think something might be missing but not quite sure what! Helen has scattered some of the new Dina Wakley 'Collage Words' across the two pages. These are great as you can add a sentiment to your page whilst still allowing the colours from the background to
