Day 1 of the cruise

Greetings all that are following our adventures. Well, we saw on the weather report that it was supposed to snow overnight. Well when we got up we noticed it was, so off to the top deck we went, and yep, heaps of it everywhere. It was such a great sight to see on our first morning on the boat. Winter wonderland it was. yesterday this morning Top deck snow covered Some activities were cancelled but our main tour went ahead with snow falling all morning. It was really fluffy snow and it was kind of drifting with the breeze. A lot different to the Snownies when it snowed there. Not all that cold about 1 C. We got to go up to Buda mountain and see some statues and hear the stories and history of Budapest, some not so nice. I guess given that there has been constant war and takeovers here for centuries and then along come the Germans and the Russians to add to the issues bringing with them Communism and strife. Budapest Adventures

Hi all, Yesterday we spent most of the day travelling to get to Budapest from Paris which is all of 1 1/2 hrs by plane. Most of the rest of time was spent in the waiting or travelling in the transport vehicles. In Paris that took about 2 hrs to eventually get to the airport. Hint - Don't use shuttle services in Paris!! It's crazy as it is without moving about picking up various others. From the air Budapest has lots of ponds of water Budapest is such a nice change from Paris hustle and bustle. It seems more laid back and not really that busy. We walked about at night and during the day comfortably with no hustlers or feeling overwhelmed. Last night we headed to the markets after tea. This is the Budapest Christmas markets. While not that large but they were really good to see. Lots of  different food and handmade crafts. I blame Lizzy but I did buy a few items as well 😄.
