Fabulous Foamiran Flowers

Hi Lovelies, We have been having so much fun at the shop lately making these stunning foamiran flowers! They turned out beautifully so we just had to share them with you! These lovely flowers look amazing and are actually so simple to make! All you need to make these flowers is the fantastic new Couture Creations Foamiran, your favourite flower die, a heat tool, stamens and inks if you wish. The Foamiran sheets make flower making and absolute breeze, as all you need to do is heat and scrunch to form these beautiful flowers! We added stamens to secure the petal layers together and add some delicate detail to the centre. We have a large collection of these sweet little stamens in-store so you're sure to find some that suit your project! The fun part about creating your own flowers is getting to customise the colour completely. We used a selection of Tim Holtz Inks to create some gorgeous soft and vibrant flowers. Once you try making these flowers y...

Vintage Artistry Tag

Hi Lovelies, We have made good use of the 'Vintage Artistry' collection by 49 & Market and Helen has put it to use again by creating two stunning tags which will be taught in the one class. This collection is very neutral toned, which has allowed us to incorporate it into many different projects. Helen has pulled out the green tones in the ferns for these tags by using different inking techniques. A feature of these tags is the wonderful butterflies which Helen has added the perfect finishing touches to make them really standout. There are so many little bits and pieces that make up this tag which have been carefully selected by the wonderful Helen. The second tag also features two delicate keys liked with a brass chain. We just love metal embellishments here at The Scrap N Patch and you are sure to find some you love as well from our extensive collection (and I'm serious when i say extensive). As we mentioned earlier, Helen has using vario...

Monday Cards

Hi Lovelies, After a lovely Christmas break things are back in motion this week!  We kick off the year's first Monday Cards class with the lovely 'Beautiful You' range by Celebr8.   The range features soft pastel tones and a plethora of succulents,  perfect for fussy cutting!  This stunning card uses the Tim Holtz inks Scattered Straw,  Shabby Shutters, Victorian Velvet and Weathered Wood to highlight  the colours in this paper range.  Liz has used the 'Succulent Garden' stencil with matte finish texture paste to  create this unique, textured background. With the finishing touch of a mounted cut-out sentiment,  this card is simply beautiful.  The background for this card uses the 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder  which is the perfect staple pattern for any background. If you are interested in finding out more about our card classes, please call the lovely ladies at...

Art Journal 28th July

Hi Lovelies, Here is one of our previous Art Journal Technique classes ran by the wonderful Helen.  Lots of tearing, stamping and inking was involved in the process of this  gorgeous page which ensured the ladies had bundles of fun! For the statement of the page, ladies created four tags using Distress Oxides  and torn music paper to feature stamped dragonflies. Helen used layers of book paper, music paper, stenciled texture paste and  script stamps to build up the background of the page. Helen's Art Journal pages quite often include a quote, phrase or sentiment.  For this page the quote "Art has no rules so have fun!" was included across both pages.   Helen used a multi-size circle stencil and some texture paste to add dimension to the page.  The texture paste can be inked lightly with your favourite colour to lift it off the page. Little rings of jute twine were added to the tags and  ...

Art Journal Class 27th June

Hi Lovelies,  Yesterday some of our Art Journal ladies gathered for a class with Helen to create this beautiful page. As always, the ladies have endless amount of fun, while learning new techniques  and leaving with their very own masterpiece. The ladies began by spritzing their page with Tim Holtz Distress sprays and Dylusions to create a base. Jo Sonja's paint was then added to a few sections for more dimension. A multi size circle stencil was then used with Jo Sonja's  paints to add small pops of colour. The key to a good art journal page is layers, so another  was added to the page using various stamps in different colours. After a light wash of Dylusions 'White Linnen' to soften and blend everything  together, the ladies were ready to draw and colour their flowers. The pages turned out beautifully and everyone was very impressed with their work. When you look closely, there are so m...
