Vintage Artistry Tag

Hi Lovelies, We have made good use of the 'Vintage Artistry' collection by 49 & Market and Helen has put it to use again by creating two stunning tags which will be taught in the one class. This collection is very neutral toned, which has allowed us to incorporate it into many different projects. Helen has pulled out the green tones in the ferns for these tags by using different inking techniques. A feature of these tags is the wonderful butterflies which Helen has added the perfect finishing touches to make them really standout. There are so many little bits and pieces that make up this tag which have been carefully selected by the wonderful Helen. The second tag also features two delicate keys liked with a brass chain. We just love metal embellishments here at The Scrap N Patch and you are sure to find some you love as well from our extensive collection (and I'm serious when i say extensive). As we mentioned earlier, Helen has using vario...

Vintage Tag

Hi Lovelies, Today I'm sharing with you this gorgeous vintage tag designed by the lovely Helen.  This tag is scattered with vintage memorabilia, unique buttons, distressed music paper, delicate lace and precious photos.   Helen has kept a fairly neutral colour pallet for this tag by using postal tags that have been inked and stamped as the background. Torn, rolled and die cut music paper has also been used to compliment and continue this neutral theme. Beautiful soft hints of pink in the tiny flowers and lace are a beautiful addition to the eclectic of vintage elements on this tag.   Helen's precious photo is surrounded by vintage buttons and sweet little metal star and heart embellishments. However, you could add absolutely anything to this tag to personalise it. There are so many ways to get your treasured photos out of the boxes and on display.  This vintage tag is perfect for those smaller pho...

Chesteville Three Ways

Hi Lovelies, Today's post is a bit of a unique one! We're showing you three different ways you can use the same paper range. We have created a Mixed Media page, Layout and Mini Album  using 'Chesterville' by Blue Fern Studios. The 'Chesterville' paper acts as the perfect background or base for any project.  The neutral, earthy colours and patterns will suit any photos and embellishments. All three projects are very different. To see more of each project and how it's been created,  simply click on the picture! The first wonderful creation from this range is a Mixed Media layout.  This layout focuses on focusing on lots of colourful embellishments and uses  the amazing Tim Holtz Distress Oxides to create a frosted layer over the Chesterville paper.  This layout features the page 'Bretton' which has been  softly inked to change it to the desired colour. The coordinating Blue Fern  flowers have also be...

Vintage Artistry Cards

Hi Lovelies,  The wonderful Linda has joined us again to create some seriously stunning  cards with the 'Vintage Artistry' collection from 49 and Market.  Linda designed and taught these three amazing cards a few weeks ago, and the ladies were nothing but impressed  with how they turned out! These papers are just perfect for fussy-cutting as there are so many  flowers, ferns and leaves to embellish with! To continue with the vintage theme of the collection, Linda distressed the papers and fussy-cut elements. This step is optional, yet it adds an extra element to these stunning cards. As always with Linda, a card is never truly finished without a sweet little something inside.  Linda used stained muslin, jute twine and a fussy-cut  butterfly to complete this card.  Linda's second card features a coordinating envelope embellishment to  store an eclectic of fussy-cut elements and di...

July Layout of the Month

Hi Lovelies, Today's post is the stunning Double Layout for July using Graphic 45's 'Nature Sketchbook'. The bold, bright colours in this range were just destined to create a fun filled layout as such.  This month the pages are scattered with vibrant butterflies, hand died flowers and die-cut ferns. Helen has used a selection of Tim Holtz Distress Inks including 'Candied Apple', 'Blueprint Sketch' and 'Wild Honey' to die paper flowers, ensuring they match the colours in the paper range. These adorable little butterflies have been fussy cut and finished off with a coat of glossy accents.  As Helen has done, when using beautifully patterned papers like Graphic 45's, a simple plain cardstock background can make all the elements jump off the page, creating a striking layout.  If you're loving our posts about the Layout of the Month kits, why not contact us to be put on our pre-order list to mak...

June Layout of the Month

Hi Lovelies,  As you may know, every month the lovely Helen designs a Double Layout of the Month. This month two whimsical pages have been created using Ultimate Crafts' L'Aquarelle paper range.  The layouts feature the cool purple and blue tones from the range and of course the beautiful butterflies and flowers that just beg to be fussy cut. This month's double layout has space for five of your precious photos.  Helen has also used the Rambling Rose 'Grateful' stamp and die set to create the beautiful verse, "those who are happiest are grateful for everything that they have" The coordinating metal dragonflies, butterflies and bling  are the perfect finishing touches.   There are a few kits left so come in quick  if this beautiful layout took your fancy.
