Hi lovelies, Today we arrived in the lovely town of Nuremberg. We arrived early and spent the morning with some wonderful activities. Our first adventure was learning basic German. Markets again I then had a rest while Robbie went to an information session on the Danube-Main Canal system that we are travelling through. It rises 1300 ft to the highest point then descends. The canal connects the North Sea near Uk to the Black Sea. It has been an idea since the around 900AD. It has had a few tries at being successful, but it took the engineering brilliance of the 1990's to make it as well as peace in Europe so they could decide who is in control of what section. remember rivers aren't flat The cost to build was a massive 2.35 billion euros or 14 million per km of canal.
