Sealife day at Narooma

Well, today was mainly suppose to be about fishing... but .. somethings don't always pan out. Mind you we did go fishing. As much as I tried to fish this morning the amazing sea life we found at the Boardwalk here at Narooma was amazing. We first saw a man looking over the edge into the water near our fishing spot so we asked what he was looking at and he said Seahorses! So off went to check it out and yep, 2 of them an orange one and a weedy coloured one. Hard to spot and too difficult to get pictures of. Next some seals came along and gave Lizzy a fright as she hung her feet over near the water. They played and jumped around about us. Next the stingrays came along. 1 then a bigger one after that just cruising up and down.. Then Liz spotted a starfish. She went for a walk to see some other things and I spotted an octopus right below us. This was like a private aquarium!!. As you can see from the photos and videos, the water is crystal clear and looks freezing!! So...

Seals and a road trip or two.

Hi lovelies, We have had the most special of days.  Our day started with a stop at the breakwater to see if there were any seals around.   There was this beauty. We were blessed to see one have a swim around in the current.  He was so lovely to watch.  Happy to just drift with the water up and down the side of the rock wall.  It was then off on our planned journey. First stop, Hankerchief Bay.  This had been recommended by a local.  The sheltered area was very pretty.  The beach area looks much like most beaches in this area with rock structures enclosing each end of the bay.  The surf was a little rougher this morning so we did not venture too far. From there we headed to Central Tilba.  I did suggest a scenic route to Rob, who agreed so off we went.  Dirt road 😅.  We only got a couple of km down the road when we reached a sign that said the road was closed to all but residential traffic. Oo...

A day at Narooma

Hi lovelies, After a cool blowy night we work this morning to beautiful sunshine and just a gentle breeze. After breakfast we decided to go for a walk on the beach at the front of the park. It was lovely to walk along the sand.  Rock formations enclose both ends of the bay, and there is a secluded area at the north end where Robbie thinks he might try his hand at fishing soon. The view out to Montague Island is pretty.  Not pretty enough for Rob to agree to a trip out there, but pretty none the less.  😏 We had some debate about why these holes were in the rocks.  I think they are for penguins, or sand fairies. 😄 We did see a man fishing on the beach.  He had caught a tailor.  Robbie had a chat with him about bait/lures etc and so after our walk it was a trip into town to visit the information center, and for Robbie to collect supplies from the tackle shop. On the way back to the ban we decided to stop again at the bre...
