Just a quick catch up.

Hi lovelies, For the past two days we have done nothing, zip, nada.  Rob thought about going and hitting some golf balls but the chair called instead.  It was so lovely just to sit and chill. This morning we packed up, left Glendon Camping Grounds and headed west for a massive 64km, to Lake Coolmunda, which is just east of Inglewood. The camp ground is lovely and we have set up between some trees.  Such a quiet lovely spot. After setting up we headed into Inglewood for some staples and a quick look around, then back to the van for lunch and a nap. We decided we would take a quick drive to the lake.  It is a lovely area.  Like most areas the lake is suffering from the drought. The water is a long way back from the edge.  The lake is closed for swimming, boating and many activities due to an algae outbreak. The birds don't seem to have got the memo.  There is such a wide variety of birds on the water.  We will return ...

It's all about the birds.

Hi lovelies, Did you all manage to keep warm last night.  It was a little chilly here, which was not helped by the fact that we left the outer door to the van open.  What silly people we are. Today was such a beautiful day. We went for a short drive to the dam on the property. It is obvious that the dam is suffering from the lack of water, but we were blessed to see some gorgeous birds. On returning to the van we were met by a number of birds that decided it was time for their lunch. We are so blessed to have such a variety of birdlife around the van. Remember to sing the song - "There was one in the bed..... "   They are quite inquisitive,  but keep an eye on the humans just to make sure we are not going to do anything untoward. This gorgeous butcher bird decided that as I had vacated my chair it was all for him.  He entertained Rob with a concert.  He did not even seem to concerned when I returned. ...

And we're back.

Hi lovelies, I know it has been a bit since we let you know where we were on our adventures.  Due to never-ending paperwork, we had to return to Toowoomba for a couple of days.  It was a mad rush visit, and we took a couple of days out to visit my mum and dad.  That was lovely.  We are back on the road, but need to stick close to home for the next few weeks while we await more paperwork, but we are pleased to be able to get out and about again. Today we left again and have arrived at Glendon Camping Centre for the next few days.  It was pouring today when we arrived, and we set up the best we could, but soon found out that our site had no water.  Off to see the caretakers to find out what we could do.  They were so lovely and accommodating.  We moved the van to another area where there is a camp kitchen and we have been able to hook up there.  Thankfully it had stopped raining. This park is mainly for off-road ...

A couple of days in Sydney.

Hi Lovelies, What a wonderful time we have had in Sydney.   Please note this post is very picture heavy, and pretty wordy as well.   Monday morning we left just after 9am to head into the city to visit my brother Michael.     I will admit that I was a little nervous of the traffic, which is why we waited until after the rush hour to leave.   We did very well I think and the GPS keeps us on track. I will admit that I was a little nervous of the traffic, which is why we waited until after the rush hour to leave.   We did very well I think and the GPS keeps us on track.  It took just over an hour to get to the docks were Mike was and is was so lovely to see him.     We pottered around and sat watching the river for a bit.   Had a spot of lunch and then set off to collect Seb (my nephew) from school.        School in inner Sydney suburbs is a bit of...
