Christmas Countdown

Hi Lovelies,

It's coming to that time of the year again where everything seems to turn red, green
and covered in glitter (not that there's anything wrong with that!).

However, things can get a little stressful,
so the wonderful Helen has designed this Mixed Media
Christmas Countdown to help you wind down and keep track of the days.

This 14 x 14" Countdown board features an interchangeable panel

which can be a fun weekly task for kids, or a simple reminder for how many

weeks there are left to plan the Christmas menu.

There are so many gorgeous little embellishments adorning the surrounding frame,
including vintage stamp cutouts, twine bows, shiny jingle bells,
pine sprigs and straw stars.

What's Christmas without Nutcrackers?
Helen couldn't forget these tiny little men and these ones are just way too sweet.

Some glittery Christmas sentiments are also nestled in among the pine sprigs.

This Christmas Countdown is a bundle of fun to create and can be kept for
many years or given away as a precious Christmas present.

This class cannot be missed and will be held on October 21st.

Final wrap up of our NZ visit

We have had an amazing time visiting the South Island, and also a few days in the North at Wellington to mainly visit the WETA workshop. On Saturday the 29th Nov we flew up to Wellington for a few days to have a look about and visit the WETA workshop. Wellington did live up to its reputation of being windy. Its a nice city built around a harbor. Most things are easy walking distance from the city centre. We took a few walks along the harbor. Elizabeth wanted to try what they call white bait. It looks like worms with eyes. It was cooked with egg. Neither of us were a great fan of this. We took the cable car up the mountain to see the sights and buy more souvenirs :). Our main objective was to visit the WETA workshop who have lots of special effects and prosthetics used in films such as LOTR. The shop was amazing with lots of expensive models but also prints and other items at reasonable rates. We had orders from family for few things and we also purchased a couple...

Caves Beach

Hi all, another day of exploring this terrific area. We went to visit Caves Beach today and had to do so at low tide due to the caves accessibility being blocked at high tide. The beach itself was a long and flat where the tide moves up the beach some 15-20 m from low to high. The main claim to fame are the beach caves. The water has eroded a number of small and large caves that aren't deep but very interesting. Some have swallows living within them. You can make your way around the bay by going through the cave to the next area. 1 area we had to time it so as not to get too wet as the tide washed through. After exploring the caves we wandered back to do the walk on the cliff edge (not that close). It was great to get a good view of the area. We even spoke to some fisherman who were fishing from the cliff. (yes they caught a Kingfish that we saw). We then looked up the Petrified Forest near the entrance to the Lake Macquarie , S...
