Our adventures begin again.

Hi lovelies,

Today I sit and write from the banks of the tweed River , while Robbie is pretending to catch fish for dinner.  My life is hard.

Our current adventure began yesterday when we left all our babies at home again and headed off.
Our home for the next few days is the Kingscliff Ingenia Holiday Park.

We arrived just after lunch and got set up. It was then off to the tourist info centre, where we saw some really cool wood carvings of life savers.

Robbie thought I should have my great to taken pinching one on the bottom, but you will be pleased to know that I am above such things.

It was then off to grab some staples from the grocers.
Fridge stocked and tummies fed it was time to go off adventuring.

We decided to take a drive to Fingal Beach. It was a lovely little very drive alone along the river. Then we headed of to walk to the lighthouse via Dreamtime Beach.

I will be the first to admit that I have been a bit of a lounge lizard over the Christmas break, so I thought the 5km walk would be a gentle start back. What I did not take into account was the heat, and man it was hot, the humidity, and the walk up soft sand from the beach to the lighthouse track. I was puffing and panting more than just a little. Robbie however took it all in his stride, so when I could breath again without passing out I acted very mature and poked my tongue at him. 😜

The view from the lighthouse was really lovely, and well worth it.

We then headed to Caberita for a swim. It was lovely, and a great way to cool down.

Then back to the van, for dinner and an early night.

This morning we headed off early to visit the farmers markets in Murwillumbah. Grabbed some fresh vegies and then it was back in the car and off to Natural Bridge.
The drive was really pleasant, even if there were some scary spots with drop offs.

Today was overcast so the walk through the rainforest to the bridge, glow worm cave and micro bat colony was quite cool.

No glow worms poked there heads out, but there were a number of micro bats and the falls at the bridge were lovely. It is a really lovely way to spend an hour.

Back into the car and we headed of to Tyalgum. What a gorgeous little town. We stopped in and visited all the little shops. My favourite was Flutterbies.

This was a warren of little rooms filled with treasures. Bears, tea cups, candles, lavender, little dining tables scattered around, and an area for markets, which alas were not on.

We had a wonderful time just absorbing the calm and serene atmosphere.

It was then back into the car and we headed for Uki where we were planning to have our lunch. All was going well until I again put us on a dirt road. I really don’t know why Robbie was surprised, and again complaining that the car will need to be washed. Like he has anything else to do with his time.😂

We did stop on the banks of the tweed river at Uki for lunch

and were joined by a nosy lizard.

We then had a quick walk through the butter factory shops.

From there we took the short drive to the base of Mount Warning, but I decided against a second walk today.

So it was back to the van for the obligatory afternoon nap.

So now here sit, on the banks of the tweed, where Robbie has finally caught a fish but not big enough to eat.

The response to this photo from our son Andrew was " you are supposed to be using bait, not catching it."

Time to relax, and watch the river flow until we head back for dinner.

Hope you enjoyed our first two days of this trip. Catch you tomorrow.
Love us.

Hi all, Here a brief overview of our 2 day adventure on Fraser Island with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Here is a link to our trip in video format.  https://youtu.be/QY8tr093G4o We were picked up from our accommodation by our tour guide who then picked up some more of our group and headed to the barge to go across to the Island. It was very smooth no seasickness this time :) We got on the 4x4 wheel bus and headed inland to Lake Mackenzie. This was a very picturesque spot. The water was very cool and the sand as white as we've seen it. After this we headed to Central station , the old tree clearing head quarters. Next we headed for Lake Wobby which was a 45 min trek in and 45 out across lots of sand. It sits on a big sand-blow which will eventually disappear. A small fresh water lake with a couple of cat fish in it. Then off to our accommodation for the night. The next day we headed out to run the beach pretty much all day heading all the way up to Champagne Pools. We eventually w

Hervey Bay and the case of the missing whales.

Hi lovelies, It has been some 8 months since our last post.  Travel around the world has certainly changed in 2020. We had not planned to do too much traveling in the first half of the year, but we quickly discovered that us making that decision and the government telling us that we won't are two very different things. :-). Feeling the need for a bit of a break, and a touch of fishing we headed for Hervey Bay on Wednesday. We had a great drive up, even managed to stop for a quick chat with the lovely Shirley in Cooya.   On Thursday we headed for a quick trip to the information centre.  To my surprise Robbie wanted to book another whale watching cruise.  We spoke at length to the agent there and finally chose what was supposed to be the calmest day for the next week.  It was then off for a drive along the coast line from Point Vernon to Urangan.   The day was beautiful, though there were large patches of mist/fog that hung around some of the coast.  We had a lovely wander along the

New South Wales Adventure - Tenterfield

Hi lovelies, A little earlier start this morning than yesterday.  We were up having a lovely breakfast by 8am.   It was a little sad this morning as we said goodbye to Steph and Leo.  We have had such a blessed time with them and we look forward to catching up with them again when we head to South Australia next year. As the weather was drizzly today we decided to head off to visit some of the nearby National Parks.  Our day consisted of dirt roads, mossy paths, lots of kangaroos and very few cars.  Gramps we are very sorry but the O Mobile is in great need of a bath.  If it rains tonight I will be sending Robbie out in his swimmers to give it a wash. Our first stop was to see Thunderbolts Hideout.  It is a short walk through some bush to see where this apparently "gentlemanly" bushranger hid. It was then back into the car and off to see the Tank Traps that were part of the Brisbane Line.  It is a fairly visually unimpressive place for such an important part
