Fishing and Journalling - what a life.

Hi lovelies,

We have had such fun for the past 2 days.

Yesterday we had to be up early and have the van packed up so we could take it in to have the fridge looked at.  While it was being tended to we had nothing else to do but .......

..... to sit on the edge of the river and discuss the fish we could see,

and tease the ducks who thought that we had food for them. 😁

This little one was not impressed and gave me the evil eye.

A very pleasant way to pass a couple of hours.

The van was ready by lunch time, so we picked it up and headed back to the van park to set back up again.  After such a hard morning we decided that a nap was in order.

We spent the afternoon organizing a bit of an itinerary for the new few weeks.

In the evening Robbie went off to fish in the river, while I stayed in the van due to the number of mozzies who make appearances after dark.

He had some wonderful success with a lovely flathead

 and a nice sized whiting.

When he caught the flathead, he also had a bream on the second hook, but it was too small so he threw it back.  Well that is what he told me, but as Phillip says, "pics or it didn't happen"

Today we pottered around a little and then went for a swim in the park pool.  I had a bit of fun playing catch with a couple of young kids who were here on holidays.  It was a bit of a workout I must admit.

It was then back to the van for lunch, and rather than a nap today we headed to the bridge between Forster and Tuncurry for a spot of fishing.

My Robbie is such a darling and made sure he chose a spot were I had a table to journal.

I had a productive afternoon, while Robbie sadly lost bait.

The park we stopped in had this lovely peace pole.  It says there are thousands of them throughout the world, but this is the first we have seen.  I wonder where we will see the next one.

I was joined by these two cheeky characters.

We grabbed some essentials to have with our fish meal for tonight, and then headed back to the van.

We had a pretty big shower of rain just before dark, but were blessed that it stopped in time for Robbie to cook the fish on the BBQ.

They were delicious.

I think he should go fishing again tonight, but it is again raining so it is a night of watching movies and chatting.

Such a hard life.

All for now.  Keep enjoying life lovelies and stay safe.

Love Us.

Hi all, Here a brief overview of our 2 day adventure on Fraser Island with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Here is a link to our trip in video format.  https://youtu.be/QY8tr093G4o We were picked up from our accommodation by our tour guide who then picked up some more of our group and headed to the barge to go across to the Island. It was very smooth no seasickness this time :) We got on the 4x4 wheel bus and headed inland to Lake Mackenzie. This was a very picturesque spot. The water was very cool and the sand as white as we've seen it. After this we headed to Central station , the old tree clearing head quarters. Next we headed for Lake Wobby which was a 45 min trek in and 45 out across lots of sand. It sits on a big sand-blow which will eventually disappear. A small fresh water lake with a couple of cat fish in it. Then off to our accommodation for the night. The next day we headed out to run the beach pretty much all day heading all the way up to Champagne Pools. We eventua...

Three days in the snow.

Hi lovelies, We have had the most amazing 3 days at the Perisher Valley Snowfields. Warning this is a very text heavy post.  Photos are limited, you cannot take many while you ski/board.  Robbie will have a video soon. On Monday we headed up just for a drive and to see what was around.   The day was perfect.   Not too windy and bright and sunny. We parked at Bullock Flats and caught the Skitube to Perisher.   This is really the best way to get there.   Nice highway all the way, and while the train is a little expensive at $55.00 per head return it is preferable to an extra hour drive on roads that may be a little less than ideal.   There is also only limited parking at Perisher so the train is the way to go.   We had a bit of a look around Perisher before heading off to Blue Cow, again by Skitube. It was so lovely to wander around.      We were thankful that we hired boots as it wa...
