Day 3 - Tin Can Bay

 Evening Lovelies,

This morning we set the alarm for 6.30am so that we could go down and feed the dolphins at Barnacles.  It was a little chilly this morning with the temperature at 3 degrees, but the wind was a pretty gusty so it seemed cooler.  My family must love me that they got out of their warm beds at that time to go and paddle in the water.

We did think that there would not be so many people there due to it being a week day, but we were wrong.

We only saw one dolphin this morning, his name is Mystique.  He was the alpha of the pod and is about 28 years old.  He was very gentle and a little battered as you would expect from an animal of his age.  Andrew, Rob and I all took a turn at giving him a little treat.

Back to the van park for a cuppa and then Gramps gave Rob a lesson on how to put the annex up on the van.

It did not seem too hard, and hopefully Robbie will remember how to put it up next time we need it.  They were thankful for Andrew's height to help when we had to move one of the posts.  I had the best job, sitting inside and watching until they were finished.

It was lovely this morning to get a message from the Monday Ladies.  I must admit that I knew it was a weekday, but forgot it was Monday.  How quickly I have moved into the world of no calendar.  The cards they are making today look wonderful.  I hope you all had a good time.

Lunch was at the Tin Can Bay Country Club, and was delicious.  Fabulous food, fantastic service, and lovely company.

After that we said farewell to Andrew who was returning to Toowoomba to work on Ruddigore which is showing this coming Thursday.

By then I needed my nap.  Robbie want to try his hand at a spot of fishing, and we finished the day with dinner at the cabin with Nana and Gramps.

My feet faced east tonight while we had a glass of bubbles before dinner.

Another super busy day had by all :-).

Catch you soon.
Lizzy

  1. It all sounds fabulous Lizzy 💖 I didn't go to cards as I have a sore throat and I am mindful to not pass anything on to Dot or Sonia.

Hi all, Here a brief overview of our 2 day adventure on Fraser Island with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Here is a link to our trip in video format.  https://youtu.be/QY8tr093G4o We were picked up from our accommodation by our tour guide who then picked up some more of our group and headed to the barge to go across to the Island. It was very smooth no seasickness this time :) We got on the 4x4 wheel bus and headed inland to Lake Mackenzie. This was a very picturesque spot. The water was very cool and the sand as white as we've seen it. After this we headed to Central station , the old tree clearing head quarters. Next we headed for Lake Wobby which was a 45 min trek in and 45 out across lots of sand. It sits on a big sand-blow which will eventually disappear. A small fresh water lake with a couple of cat fish in it. Then off to our accommodation for the night. The next day we headed out to run the beach pretty much all day heading all the way up to Champagne Pools. We eventua...
