New South Wales Adventures - Port Macquarie/Wauchope

Hi lovelies,

I know it has been a couple of days since I wrote so I will catch you up on it all.

On Sunday we went off for a drive in the morning.  Robbie did some fishing while I sat and read a book.

The weather was a bit grubby, so we did not stay to long before we headed home again.

We spent the afternoon reading books and napping.

Monday we left Kendall and headed to Wauchope.  We got settled at the camp grounds, had a spot of lunch and then headed off to see some of the sights of Port Macquarie.  We headed to Tacking Point Lighthouse.

The view from the top of the hill was beautiful.

To the south was Lighthouse Beach, which seemed to stretch for an age,

to the north was a small rocky bay.

After taking in the view we went for a wander down to the rocky bay and wandered in the water.  We were amazed that it seemed like the water behind the rocks seemed to be a floor higher than the water inside the bay.

There were a few jellyfish pieces on the beach, and I think this one looks just like a baby’s foot.

We then ventured down to Town Green.  This is a beautiful park right on the waterfront and is very well set out.  There were lots of families having fish and chips, with a number of seagulls trying to get adopted so they could share in the meal.

We then headed back to the van to do some chores and have a nap.

Today we had a split morning.  I dropped Robbie back to Town Green where he was planning to do a spot of fishing, while I headed off to visit some of the ladies who belong to Port Macquarie Cards for Aussie Troops.

After only getting lost twice, I arrived, and had such a fun morning meeting the ladies and learning about the work they do.  They are very dedicated in their cardmaking ventures and send off an amazing number of cards to different areas where our troops are serving.

I went back to see how Robbie had faired for the morning.  He had fun, but the only thing he caught was some seaweed.

It was then our turn to have fish and chips on the waterfront.

The seagulls were joined by 2 pelicans to try and join in our meal.  They are very cheeky and get amazingly close.
Back again to the van, where reading and relaxing was on the agenda for the rest of the afternoon.
All for today lovelies.
Stay safe and keep enjoying life
Rob and Lizzy.

Hi all, Here a brief overview of our 2 day adventure on Fraser Island with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Here is a link to our trip in video format.  https://youtu.be/QY8tr093G4o We were picked up from our accommodation by our tour guide who then picked up some more of our group and headed to the barge to go across to the Island. It was very smooth no seasickness this time :) We got on the 4x4 wheel bus and headed inland to Lake Mackenzie. This was a very picturesque spot. The water was very cool and the sand as white as we've seen it. After this we headed to Central station , the old tree clearing head quarters. Next we headed for Lake Wobby which was a 45 min trek in and 45 out across lots of sand. It sits on a big sand-blow which will eventually disappear. A small fresh water lake with a couple of cat fish in it. Then off to our accommodation for the night. The next day we headed out to run the beach pretty much all day heading all the way up to Champagne Pools. We eventua...

Three days in the snow.

Hi lovelies, We have had the most amazing 3 days at the Perisher Valley Snowfields. Warning this is a very text heavy post.  Photos are limited, you cannot take many while you ski/board.  Robbie will have a video soon. On Monday we headed up just for a drive and to see what was around.   The day was perfect.   Not too windy and bright and sunny. We parked at Bullock Flats and caught the Skitube to Perisher.   This is really the best way to get there.   Nice highway all the way, and while the train is a little expensive at $55.00 per head return it is preferable to an extra hour drive on roads that may be a little less than ideal.   There is also only limited parking at Perisher so the train is the way to go.   We had a bit of a look around Perisher before heading off to Blue Cow, again by Skitube. It was so lovely to wander around.      We were thankful that we hired boots as it wa...
