New South Wales Advetures - Grafton, Maclean and Yamba

Hi lovelies,

We have had such fun over the last two days.
Yesterday we were off for a bit of sight seeing. It was nearly lunch time before Robbie got out of bed (not really, but we did not get on the road until 10am).

We first headed to Grafton to have a look at some of the Jacaranda Trees that were in bloom.

We also visited the Art Gallery, which now also houses the information centre.  Lots of lovely art pieces to see, and a special chair that was the perfect colour. 😊.

We took a short wander to see some of the local buildings and historic sites.
From there we headed to Ulmarra, a lovely old port town,

 With some gorgeous old buildings.

I was very pleased to see a book store that was advertising all books at ½ price.  I do think that they put the prices up to cover the sale, but still managed to buy 3 books.

From there we were supposed to travel down a tourist road, but alas I misread the map.  Robbie was kind and did turn around so that we could back.  We were so pleased we did.

The tourist road rand along the river and we saw lots of trawlers working.

and a special flower just for my Mum (bahahahaha I crack myself up).

It was then onto Maclean.   A wonderful little town that has a Scottish connection.

All the power poles are painted with tartan patterns,

and there is a Cairn at the top of a hill overlooking the town and river.

We bought fish and chips for lunch to eat beside the river.  This is the second time on this trip we treated ourselves at a fishing town and it is the last time we will do so. .  Both time we fed the seagulls our fish.
From there it was back to the van for a bit of a rest before we took a drive to some fishing spots recommended by some locals.

This morning was a much earlier start, it must be a fishing day 😊.
We headed off to Goodwood Island.

We had a lovely time.  Robbie set up his fishing gear and I got myself sorted with a chair and a book.
It was not very long before my reading was interrupted as my hero had caught a fish.  This seemed to set the tone for the morning.

After being interrupted 4 times, for 2 small flathead and 2 small brim,

I decided that I would give the book a miss and do some fishing of my own.

My result was 1 small flathead.

All fish were returned to have their nappies changed, so it was off to Yamba for some shopping.
We were planning to have a swim at Yamba, but most beaches had a large amount of weed.

Yamba was much larger than we imagined.

Back to the van again for some housework, it take so long to sweep the van out and do the washing, that I had to have a break.

Tonight we are seeing if we can cook a roast on the webber.  Hope it goes well.

All for today lovely.
Take care and continue to enjoy life.
Rob and Lizzy

Hi all, Here a brief overview of our 2 day adventure on Fraser Island with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Here is a link to our trip in video format.  https://youtu.be/QY8tr093G4o We were picked up from our accommodation by our tour guide who then picked up some more of our group and headed to the barge to go across to the Island. It was very smooth no seasickness this time :) We got on the 4x4 wheel bus and headed inland to Lake Mackenzie. This was a very picturesque spot. The water was very cool and the sand as white as we've seen it. After this we headed to Central station , the old tree clearing head quarters. Next we headed for Lake Wobby which was a 45 min trek in and 45 out across lots of sand. It sits on a big sand-blow which will eventually disappear. A small fresh water lake with a couple of cat fish in it. Then off to our accommodation for the night. The next day we headed out to run the beach pretty much all day heading all the way up to Champagne Pools. We eventua...

Three days in the snow.

Hi lovelies, We have had the most amazing 3 days at the Perisher Valley Snowfields. Warning this is a very text heavy post.  Photos are limited, you cannot take many while you ski/board.  Robbie will have a video soon. On Monday we headed up just for a drive and to see what was around.   The day was perfect.   Not too windy and bright and sunny. We parked at Bullock Flats and caught the Skitube to Perisher.   This is really the best way to get there.   Nice highway all the way, and while the train is a little expensive at $55.00 per head return it is preferable to an extra hour drive on roads that may be a little less than ideal.   There is also only limited parking at Perisher so the train is the way to go.   We had a bit of a look around Perisher before heading off to Blue Cow, again by Skitube. It was so lovely to wander around.      We were thankful that we hired boots as it wa...
