Nelligen, Tuross Heads and Naroom - with a touch of seal.

Hi lovelies,

What a wonderful day we have had today.  We got to see some seals having a sleep on the rocks of the breakwater in Naroom.

But before I go on more about them, I need to tell you what we did for the past couple of days, and about our travels today.

Thursday the weather cleared and we went off for a bit of a drive.

Nelligen is a sleepy little town on the banks of the Clyde River about 15 minutes from Batemans Bay.

Many of the buildings are heritage listed and the outside of them has been kept in good condition.  The building are now all privately owned, so you don't get to wander around and see the insides.

A ferry operated across the river until 1964 when the bridge was opened.

The road connects Canberra with Batemans Bay.  I think if we had the length of delay that road users faced prior to the bridge there may have been some major road rage incidents.  Hopefully in days gone past, people were not in so much of a hurry.

Robbie did a spot of fishing in the afternoon and managed to catch this sand crab.  We sent him back to grow a little more.

Friday we took a trip to Gorilla Bay.  We had a walk around the headland and checked to see if we could see any whales, but not this trip.

It is a very pretty view, and people in this area are obviously a little more sensible than in other regions.  There are no fences, and no signs to warn people to stay away from the edge, they just expect you to use your common sense.

The Bay itself is just lovely.  Very sheltered and the water was clear and calm.

We had decided to go to Gorilla Bay to see the rock formations that we had heard about. It was said that they were caused by the tectonic plates crushing together and date back to Gondwanaland times.

They were definitely interesting to look at, and the angled structures did indeed look like they had been forced up out of the earth at an angle rather than the normal look of rocks appearing horizontal with the land.

Alas the area is a protected zone, so no fishing there.

We headed off to Rosedale Bay were Robbie decided it might be a nice place to fish.

It too was a lovely bay.  I got comfortable with a book, and Robbie went off to hunt and gather.

Alas all he managed to collect was wet shorts.

Today was moving day again.  This time our journey was a massive 58km.

We stopped at the goregous seaside town of Tuross Heads.  The drive in is spectacular with water on both sides of the inlet.  I might be a nice place to go back to.
There is a boardwalk at the entrance of the river and the water there is crystal clear and looked so pretty, but also looked pretty cold.

We continued on our way and stopped at Bodalla to see the Cheese Factory.

Alas it is Saturday and so the factory was not working, but that did not stop us looking, or buying some cheese at the cafe.

Then onto Naroom and getting set up on our site for the next 9 days.  What a magnificent view.

After lunch we went for a little drive to see Australia Rock.  A fun place to take a photo.

There is a breakwater there and we were blessed to see some seals.

They were just lazing around on the rocks.

I did wonder for a bit if they were no longer living, but they did move.

There is a sign warning not too get too close, but don't you just want to squeeze this ones cheeks.

Robbie has put a video up of the seals if you want to check it out by clicking here.

For Nana, Gramps and Judy, our park is literally in the middle of a golf course.  They have stunning views, but I think you would be in trouble if you overshot the greens.

More pictures of the course tomorrow, if the weather clears. :-)

All for now lovelies.

Stay safe and keep enjoying life.

Love us.

Hi all, Here a brief overview of our 2 day adventure on Fraser Island with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Here is a link to our trip in video format.  https://youtu.be/QY8tr093G4o We were picked up from our accommodation by our tour guide who then picked up some more of our group and headed to the barge to go across to the Island. It was very smooth no seasickness this time :) We got on the 4x4 wheel bus and headed inland to Lake Mackenzie. This was a very picturesque spot. The water was very cool and the sand as white as we've seen it. After this we headed to Central station , the old tree clearing head quarters. Next we headed for Lake Wobby which was a 45 min trek in and 45 out across lots of sand. It sits on a big sand-blow which will eventually disappear. A small fresh water lake with a couple of cat fish in it. Then off to our accommodation for the night. The next day we headed out to run the beach pretty much all day heading all the way up to Champagne Pools. We eventua...

Three days in the snow.

Hi lovelies, We have had the most amazing 3 days at the Perisher Valley Snowfields. Warning this is a very text heavy post.  Photos are limited, you cannot take many while you ski/board.  Robbie will have a video soon. On Monday we headed up just for a drive and to see what was around.   The day was perfect.   Not too windy and bright and sunny. We parked at Bullock Flats and caught the Skitube to Perisher.   This is really the best way to get there.   Nice highway all the way, and while the train is a little expensive at $55.00 per head return it is preferable to an extra hour drive on roads that may be a little less than ideal.   There is also only limited parking at Perisher so the train is the way to go.   We had a bit of a look around Perisher before heading off to Blue Cow, again by Skitube. It was so lovely to wander around.      We were thankful that we hired boots as it wa...
