Lots of animals.

Hi lovelies,

For the past couple of days we have been blessed to see such an array of wildlife.

Yesterday we had to take a trip back down to Ulladulla to retrieve Robbie's wallet which had been found by a very honest shopper and returned to Woolworths.  He actually lost it last Thursday but we did not notice until the weekend.  A number of phone calls to places we had been to try and find it, and were praising God when Woolies said they had it.

On the way home we did some detours into different bays around St George's Basin.  A number of lovely spots.

Driving down the main road we were amaze to see this massive mob of kangaroos.  They were not at all scared of us, so we stopped to grab a photo or two.

We also spotted these two characters who were decorating a front yard.  One just for decoration I hope,

 and one as the mailbox.

Today we ventured off to Booderee National Park, because I used my much loved "let's go for a walk" phrase. 😆.

The first stop was to see another gorgeous white sand beach.

Green Patch beach was stunning, with its crystal clear water.

The Munyunga Waraga Walk is a circuit track that goes from Murrays Beach up to Governors Head

then along the cliff edge past Devils Elbow

and then back through the bushland.

We were blessed with the views, and the wildlife.

This gentleman was sitting quite bravely just beside us at Govenors Head.  Such a regal looking bird.

We again saw some whales making their way north.

After the walk we ventured off to the Cape St George Lighthouse ruins.  Found a lovely spot to have some lunch and then ventured around the ruins.

This lighthouse was supposedly built in a hurry.  It was in the wrong place and so when the new one was built at Perpendicular Point it was vacated.

It obviously was not happy about not being used as it continued to cause problems for ships with reflecting moonlight and still steering ships astray.

For its continued harassment of shipping the government actually blew the lighthouse up.

We again saw some whales.  They are so lovely to see.  No pics today.  Too busy watching.

It was then off to Caves Beach for a look.  This was pretty special.

Kangaroos in both the car park

and the camp area.

 A lovely lookout.

and a beautiful beach.

The caves were pretty cool.

What did amaze us was the flow of water that was coming down one of the cliff edges.

You did not immediately see the drips, but heard the noise.  It was kind of musical and was so lovely.

Back to the van via the local grocery store.

Another amazing day.

Tomorrow is a day off for us.  Some chores, some journalling, some fishing and I am pretty sure a nap.

Stay safe lovelies and keep enjoying life.

Love us.

Hi all, Here a brief overview of our 2 day adventure on Fraser Island with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Here is a link to our trip in video format.  https://youtu.be/QY8tr093G4o We were picked up from our accommodation by our tour guide who then picked up some more of our group and headed to the barge to go across to the Island. It was very smooth no seasickness this time :) We got on the 4x4 wheel bus and headed inland to Lake Mackenzie. This was a very picturesque spot. The water was very cool and the sand as white as we've seen it. After this we headed to Central station , the old tree clearing head quarters. Next we headed for Lake Wobby which was a 45 min trek in and 45 out across lots of sand. It sits on a big sand-blow which will eventually disappear. A small fresh water lake with a couple of cat fish in it. Then off to our accommodation for the night. The next day we headed out to run the beach pretty much all day heading all the way up to Champagne Pools. We eventually w

Hervey Bay and the case of the missing whales.

Hi lovelies, It has been some 8 months since our last post.  Travel around the world has certainly changed in 2020. We had not planned to do too much traveling in the first half of the year, but we quickly discovered that us making that decision and the government telling us that we won't are two very different things. :-). Feeling the need for a bit of a break, and a touch of fishing we headed for Hervey Bay on Wednesday. We had a great drive up, even managed to stop for a quick chat with the lovely Shirley in Cooya.   On Thursday we headed for a quick trip to the information centre.  To my surprise Robbie wanted to book another whale watching cruise.  We spoke at length to the agent there and finally chose what was supposed to be the calmest day for the next week.  It was then off for a drive along the coast line from Point Vernon to Urangan.   The day was beautiful, though there were large patches of mist/fog that hung around some of the coast.  We had a lovely wander along the

It's all about the birds.

Hi lovelies, Did you all manage to keep warm last night.  It was a little chilly here, which was not helped by the fact that we left the outer door to the van open.  What silly people we are. Today was such a beautiful day. We went for a short drive to the dam on the property. It is obvious that the dam is suffering from the lack of water, but we were blessed to see some gorgeous birds. On returning to the van we were met by a number of birds that decided it was time for their lunch. We are so blessed to have such a variety of birdlife around the van. Remember to sing the song - "There was one in the bed..... "   They are quite inquisitive,  but keep an eye on the humans just to make sure we are not going to do anything untoward. This gorgeous butcher bird decided that as I had vacated my chair it was all for him.  He entertained Rob with a concert.  He did not even seem to concerned when I returned. We were also
