2 days of fun.

Hi lovelies,

We have again had a couple of lovely days.

Yesterday was overcast and a little chilly.

We decided to head into Ulladulla to the tourist center and grab some info.

While there we took a walk around the wharf.  We chatted with some locals who were fishing.

From there we decided to do the “Fossil walk”.  We are not sure whether it was the wrong tide, or we were just blind, and while we did not see any fossils we did have a lovely walk up the beach.

and saw this gorgeous fellow hunting lunch in the seaweed.

It was then off to Dolphin Point to see if there were any fishing spots that might be good to go and visit.  The water running of the rocks was like a mini waterfall.

One of the things we have noticed about the beaches in this region is that there large flat rock outcrops.

We decided that we would walk around the rocks on Dolphin Point – on the edge closest to the shore.  We were happily wandering around when a rogue wave came up and we could not get up the rock wall out of the way.  (X is where we were standing)

Robbie was my hero and held on so that I would not get knocked off my feet, but gosh was I wet.  Even though he was my hero, it still did not stop him having a good laugh at my expense. 😊..    So it was back to the van to dry off and get the washing done.

We finished our lunch and then it was time for a nap.

Today dawned bright and sunny.  Such a wonderful morning.

I was up early and while chatting with my Mum and a friend I decided to feed the ducks.  They were very pleased to have an early morning snack.

I roused Robbie and we headed off to church.  The 15 in attendance today was in vast contrast to last week’s 3500.  The service was lovely, and we enjoyed the challenging message from the minister.

Back to the van for lunch and then it was off for a walk and to see if we could find some fishing spots.

Our first stop was to see the Warden Head Lighthouse.

This lighthouse overlooks another flat rock outcrop.  It has another set of rocks just off from this which looks like it would be perfect for fishing.  It would only be safely accessible by boat, so no fishing there for Robbie.

From the lighthouse lookout we were fortunate to see some seals who were having a bit of a feed and playing with some birds.  Pretty cool.

No you cannot see them in the photo, so please stop straining your eyes :-)

There are a number of viewing platforms within walking distance of the lookout and we did a couple of them.

We then took a walk that went past one of the “sand” beaches in the area.  We have no idea how you get down to it, but it was lovely to see.

We found a walkway that goes down to another beach and Robbie was planning a trip there tomorrow, however he thinks he will be too tired as the cricket is on overnight 😊.

It was then back to the van again to get chores done and have a bit of a relax.

All for now lovelies

Take care and keep enjoying life.

Love us.

Hi all, Here a brief overview of our 2 day adventure on Fraser Island with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Here is a link to our trip in video format.  https://youtu.be/QY8tr093G4o We were picked up from our accommodation by our tour guide who then picked up some more of our group and headed to the barge to go across to the Island. It was very smooth no seasickness this time :) We got on the 4x4 wheel bus and headed inland to Lake Mackenzie. This was a very picturesque spot. The water was very cool and the sand as white as we've seen it. After this we headed to Central station , the old tree clearing head quarters. Next we headed for Lake Wobby which was a 45 min trek in and 45 out across lots of sand. It sits on a big sand-blow which will eventually disappear. A small fresh water lake with a couple of cat fish in it. Then off to our accommodation for the night. The next day we headed out to run the beach pretty much all day heading all the way up to Champagne Pools. We eventually w

Hervey Bay and the case of the missing whales.

Hi lovelies, It has been some 8 months since our last post.  Travel around the world has certainly changed in 2020. We had not planned to do too much traveling in the first half of the year, but we quickly discovered that us making that decision and the government telling us that we won't are two very different things. :-). Feeling the need for a bit of a break, and a touch of fishing we headed for Hervey Bay on Wednesday. We had a great drive up, even managed to stop for a quick chat with the lovely Shirley in Cooya.   On Thursday we headed for a quick trip to the information centre.  To my surprise Robbie wanted to book another whale watching cruise.  We spoke at length to the agent there and finally chose what was supposed to be the calmest day for the next week.  It was then off for a drive along the coast line from Point Vernon to Urangan.   The day was beautiful, though there were large patches of mist/fog that hung around some of the coast.  We had a lovely wander along the

A couple of days in Sydney.

Hi Lovelies, What a wonderful time we have had in Sydney.   Please note this post is very picture heavy, and pretty wordy as well.   Monday morning we left just after 9am to head into the city to visit my brother Michael.     I will admit that I was a little nervous of the traffic, which is why we waited until after the rush hour to leave.   We did very well I think and the GPS keeps us on track. I will admit that I was a little nervous of the traffic, which is why we waited until after the rush hour to leave.   We did very well I think and the GPS keeps us on track.  It took just over an hour to get to the docks were Mike was and is was so lovely to see him.     We pottered around and sat watching the river for a bit.   Had a spot of lunch and then set off to collect Seb (my nephew) from school.        School in inner Sydney suburbs is a bit of an eyeopener.   The schools are fenced and gates locked.   You cannot ent
