Garigal National Park and northern beaches.

Hi lovelies,
We arrived in Sydney yesterday and are staying at a lovely caravan park in Vineyard.  It is the same park we stayed at when we were here in April.

It was still some smoke around as we left this morning, but turned out to be a beautiful day.

“Let’s go for a walk” I said.  😊.

We took a drive into the Garigal National Park were we were going to have a spot of lunch and then do part of the Cascades Trail.

This time I found the right car park,

I knew it was a 2 ½ km trip each way, and that there would be some “gentle slopes”.

What they forgot to say was the entire trip to the stepping stones crossing was downhill, which meant the 2 1/2km back was uphill.

It was a lovely walk and the stepping stones were quite pretty.

We then decided that we would go for a drive to see some of the beaches north or the city. Please note I take no responsibility if I have the wrong beach under the wrong title.  It got a little hard to work out what was what 😏

Our first stop was Bongin Bongin Bay.

The sand was quite interesting in that it had a brownish/orange tint to it.

From there is was off to Narrabeen Beach.

I want this man’s job.  Well actually I don’t want any job, but if I had to have one, sitting on the beach to watch a truck go back and forwards would be it.

Next stop Dee Why.  Why?, because we could 😊.

Then to South Curl Curl.

Then to Manly where we went for a drive to the North Head Sanctuary.

This area was really amazing, and we were a bit sad that we did not leave enough time to have a really good look at it.
The Barracks Precinct was really cool

We then took a trip to the Fairfax Lookouts area.

What a wonderful sight from the heads.  Even the lingering smoke in the sky did not take away from the amazing views.
This little bird spent some time showing off for us.

It was then time to head back to the van.  Robbie was a marvel manoeuvring around the evening traffic.
Another amazing day with seeing more of this wonderful country.
All for tonight lovelies.
Stay safe and keep enjoying life.
Love us.

Hi all, Here a brief overview of our 2 day adventure on Fraser Island with Fraser Island Explorer Tours. Here is a link to our trip in video format.  https://youtu.be/QY8tr093G4o We were picked up from our accommodation by our tour guide who then picked up some more of our group and headed to the barge to go across to the Island. It was very smooth no seasickness this time :) We got on the 4x4 wheel bus and headed inland to Lake Mackenzie. This was a very picturesque spot. The water was very cool and the sand as white as we've seen it. After this we headed to Central station , the old tree clearing head quarters. Next we headed for Lake Wobby which was a 45 min trek in and 45 out across lots of sand. It sits on a big sand-blow which will eventually disappear. A small fresh water lake with a couple of cat fish in it. Then off to our accommodation for the night. The next day we headed out to run the beach pretty much all day heading all the way up to Champagne Pools. We eventua...

Three days in the snow.

Hi lovelies, We have had the most amazing 3 days at the Perisher Valley Snowfields. Warning this is a very text heavy post.  Photos are limited, you cannot take many while you ski/board.  Robbie will have a video soon. On Monday we headed up just for a drive and to see what was around.   The day was perfect.   Not too windy and bright and sunny. We parked at Bullock Flats and caught the Skitube to Perisher.   This is really the best way to get there.   Nice highway all the way, and while the train is a little expensive at $55.00 per head return it is preferable to an extra hour drive on roads that may be a little less than ideal.   There is also only limited parking at Perisher so the train is the way to go.   We had a bit of a look around Perisher before heading off to Blue Cow, again by Skitube. It was so lovely to wander around.      We were thankful that we hired boots as it wa...
